Our Wildway Crew highlights ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Within each of us lies the potential to live life to the fullest. We have the ability to choose our own destiny, live without fear or limits, challenge ourselves and grow, do and be whatever makes us happy. We have the ability to be free. It's how you live a Wildway of life and there are people all around us inspiring others with their actions. We want to celebrate that by highlighting and honoring those who #LiveWild. (More on that here)
Meet this week's featured Wildway Crew member:
Wildway of Choice = Banana Nut Granola
Here is Patrick's story in his own words:
"I am a doer. I am rarely the strongest the fastest or the smartest, but because I try, I succeed. I am eternally optimistic. I have won over 40 races barefoot or in sandals including 5km, 10km, 1/2 marathon, marathon, 50km, and 100km. I race roads, I race trails, I race burros, and sometimes I even race in my birthday suit.
You only get one life and I try to say yes to as many opportunities as possible. The structure of my life is unconventional. I have zero financial stability, no path towards a home with a wife, kids and house with a white picket fence. But what I do have is freedom. If I want to drive or run across the country tomorrow I will (and did in 2015).
I came across the concept of "Vicarism" years ago. Most people make life choices that don't give that freedom that wish they had. I live a pretty free life and in this day and age of social media I try to provide the service of letting others live vicariously through my adventures. I owe it to those who don't have such freedom, to go out and experience as many things as I can so that they can live vicariously through my actions.
Live Wild. Do Wild.
