Meet Patrick. American Ninja Warrior competitor and fitness coach. Patrick is dedicated, disciplined, and always striving to be a better version of himself. He makes it his mission to help improve the health and fitness of as many people as he can and he's just getting started. Read his story and be inspired!

Here is Patrick's story in his own words:

 "My Wildway of Life entails flying through the air, becoming the best version of myself every day, and helping others transform their bodies and find their confidence through fitness. By flying through the air, I’m referring to American Ninja Warrior. I’ve been training for Ninja Warrior for the past 2 years, and it has given me something larger than myself to work toward. Every single day when I’m in the gym, there’s no question about whether I’m going to finish every rep of every set of every exercise because every rep counts toward this massive, larger-than-life goal months down the road. But I absolutely love it because Ninja Warrior presents me with obstacles and my mission is to literally and physically overcome them every time I train. It’s this really cool sport where I’m not competing against anyone else; we’re all competing to beat the course, to overcome the obstacles.

At the same time, though, I’m equally passionate about helping others transform their bodies and become the best versions of themselves. I have my own custom fitness program called the Lyon Shred with over 200 clients in 5 countries. Every day, I get to craft these workout program and meal plans that allow these people all over the world to transform themselves in ways they may not have even believed were possible. The self-empowerment I get to witness instilled in their lives feels incredible.
On June 15, 2005 I saw the movie Batman Begins and it changed the course of my life forever. I started doing push-ups and sit-ups every day, and that was the start of my fitness journey literally at the age of 9. I loved the feeling of getting stronger, being able to more than I used to be capable of. I did that for several years and loved the gains in strength. At the age of 15, I did my very first fitness program and got in the best shape of my life. I was very off-and-on with fitness for the next 4 years, and then at the age of 19, I did my first weightlifting workout program in a gym and it changed my world. Since the age of 19 years old, I have worked out at least 5 times per week, every week, except for small periods of injury that prevented me from exercising. The gym is where I found my home. I loved the feeling of empowerment of lifting heavier and heavier things, I loved the people, and I loved the changes I saw in my body. The discipline I developed in the gym permeated into all aspects of my life, and I became the best version of myself because of it.
Once I experienced those incredible changes in my own life, I simply sought to help others do the same. I became a fitness coach through a national brand in June of 2015, and helped over 200 people on their fitness journeys during the years following that. But once I truly became invested in the fitness industry and began researching fitness on my own, I learned many things that took my fitness journey to the next level. This eventually led me to create my own fitness program, the Lyon Shred, which is the program I wish I had from the very beginning. It takes out all of the guesswork so that, with no prior experience, you can be successful with achieving your fitness goals. I launched the program after I got in the best shape of my life (again) with it leading to American Ninja Warrior Season 10. That was in April 2018, and just during those 9 months of 2018, I reached over 200 clients with the program, helping them lose hundreds of pounds of fat and gain hundreds of pounds of muscle.
I’m inspired by the idea that we all get to choose how we shape our journeys by our daily efforts and actions. As I mentioned, I started out as a very skinny kid. I didn’t play sports, and I was known as the nerdy kid. I could have chosen to accept that identity and stick with it. Instead I chose to become what I believe is my truest, fullest self, an active-living, fun-loving fitness enthusiast and coach. No one told me to be who I am. No one gave me permission to do what I do. I chose I wanted to live this way and become this version of myself, and I absolutely love it.
