The Tough Thing about Tough Things
The tough thing about tough things is that—well—they’re tough. Sounds silly really, but it’s something many people don’t really realize when embarking on a new journey, a difficult change, or a turning point in business or life. We instinctively want the tough things to be easy, no big deal, it’ll be fine kind of things, but the reality of the matter is that they aren’t, and that’s a great thing. You see toughness is progress, challenge is growth, and pain is no longer fear.
Most people see difficult problems or situations as a bad thing, when in reality, it only resembles good. Think about it… difficult times mean you are working through a problem, a challenge means you will come out the other side better than you were before, and pain means you will no longer have to live with the fear of wondering what that pain might feel like and chances are the next time you experience it, it won’t hurt nearly as bad.
So take risks, face your fears, and challenge yourself to move forward.
It’s only a matter of perspective.
