Although you're guaranteed to find us snacking on Wildway granola and snack mixes while on the trails, we do add in some fun variety every now and then to change things up. Not all fuel is created equal and just because you're far out exploring the trails, doesn't mean your nutrition should be put on the back burner. With a little preparedness, you can pack nutritious and real food fuel that will help your body and mind perform their best. We've done the hard work for you of trying to figure out what snacks are good and what should be left behind. Here are 10 snacks that make it into our packs when we're hitting the trails.

In a pinch these little bites give us the boost we need and are like a taste of heaven compared to other processed snacks.

For something fruity and chewy, fruit leather is a great way to get in some clean carb fuel. Whether you make them at home or buy them at the store, be sure to use clean and quality ingredients to keep your body performing in tip top shape while you're trekkin along. 5. Beef Jerky and Tuna Jerky Strips

Jerky is a great way to pack in the protein for muscle recovery during and after a long day's journey. Like we say, our nutrition shouldn't have to be sacrificed for the sake of our wandering adventures! From beef jerky to tuna jerky for our pescatarian friends, these little sticks do the body a whole lot of good.

Ever thought our granola would make a perfect trail treat, but you didn't want to carry an entire 8oz. bag? We have, and that's why our granola snack packs are perfect to-go granola fuel.  We're new to the world of energy gels and drinks, but one thing we're not knew to, how to fuel our bodies right and detecting BS when we see it. Same as fresh fruits, a homemade variety of nuts and seeds is an essential when packing to hit the trail. Healthy fats help to keep us full for longer and we just love to snack on them. It's easy to burn calories while on the trail, so energy-dense snacks are important to keep our bodies stable.
